Job Description

Position: Benefits Coordinator

Location: Shoreline, WA

Pay: $26-29/hr

Contract: 3+ months

*Hybrid flexibility after training*

The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for managing employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with regulations, and serving as a point of contact for employees regarding their benefits.

Responsibilities:

1. Benefits Administration

  • Overseeing health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and retirement plans
  • Managing open enrollment periods and ensuring employees understand their options
  • Processing new enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefits programs
  • Ensuring benefits records are accurate and up to date

2. Employee Support & Communication

  • Acting as the primary contact for employee benefits-related questions
  • Explaining benefits policies and programs to employees
  • Assisting employees with claims, coverage, and eligibility issues
  • Conducting benefits orientation sessions for new hires

3. Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensuring benefits programs comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., ACA, COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA)
  • Preparing and submitting required reports, such as ACA filings and 401(k) compliance documents

4. Payroll & Benefits Coordination

  • Collaborating with payroll to ensure proper benefits deductions
  • Reconciling benefits invoices and resolving discrepancies
  • Tracking benefits-related expenses and ensuring accurate payments

Requirements:

  • 2-5+ years of benefits administration experience
  • Strong team player
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage a complex payroll/benefits process
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
