ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) Based Lamp Life Extender
The concept aims to prevent incandescent bulbs from failing in cold weather when they demand a lot of electricity when turned on. This is owing to their low resistance, which causes the load to be at peak supply voltage due to random switching. The goal of this project is to extend the life of the lamp by utilising a TRIAC to regulate the switch on time by lighting it after detecting the zero cross point of the provided voltage waveform. This allows the current waveform to rise from zero to full value when the lamp is turned on, extending the bulb's life. A push button is used to turn on the bulb at zero supply voltage, gradually increasing the current from zero to full value. For ZVS (Zero Voltage Switching) output, a comparator is used. As a reference interrupt, this ZVS is given to the microcontroller (of the 32-bit arm series).
