Real Time Clock based Streetlight Automation using I2c protocol
Street lighting is one of the most fundamental services supplied by the local government in every town and city. The ON-OFF control of street lights in India is done manually. As a result, it is quite possible that controlling will not be completed on time. Fixed times are also not appropriate in all seasons. As a result, street lights linger on for longer periods of time or may not turn on when needed. Local weather circumstances may necessitate turning off street lights.
As a result, the current approach causes a lot of inconvenient situations and wastes a lot of energy. Both difficulties are solved here by developing an autonomous and adaptive street light control system. The algorithm considers dawn and sunset times, ambient light conditions, and the presence of dust or mist at the site. With nanowatt technology-based microcontrollers and sensors for LED street lights, this novel system allows street lights to adjust the daylight schedule to run automatically. As a result, the new technology intelligently regulates street lighting. This innovation, in combination with an efficient LED-based system, light dimming, and an automated operating concept, extends the life of street lighting. Additionally, this serves the function of energy conservation. In comparison to a current lighting system, overall energy savings might range from 60 to 65 percent. This adaptive street light management system for smart cities provides the most straightforward way to conserve electricity.
