Barcode Scanner Based Student Attendance System (SAS) Student attendance is critical in justifying a student's and the school's overall academic performance. In Malaysia's secondary schools, there is currently no automated attendance record keeping application. At order to better understand the manual attendance record keeping procedure, a preliminary research was undertaken in one of Selangor's secondary schools. The Student Attendance System (SAS) development team discovered that instructors and school administrators had difficulty tracking and controlling their students' attendance via interviews. As a result, SAS was conceived and developed. The need for a tool to systematically keep track of kids' attendance has grown as the number of pupils in school has expanded.
