An international logistics company is seeking a Trade Compliance Manager.

  • Direct Hire (Full time) with excellent benefit package
  • Salary: $90K-$100K/yr (Exempt)
  • Location: Fullerton, CA – Hybrid schedule after training

 

Requirements of the Trade Compliance Manager

  • Experience: 7–10 years in a third-party logistics (3PL) environment, with a minimum of 3–5 years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) or equivalent work-related experience.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of international trade regulations, including EAR, OFAC, ITAR, and related compliance frameworks.
  • Customs & Trade Expertise: Proficient in U.S. Customs Bonds, ACE reporting, FTZ operations, CTPAT, additional tariff requirements, Other Government Agencies (OGAs), ACH, and all relevant trade legislation and regulations.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; adept at leveraging technology to enhance productivity.
  • Communication & Organization: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Integrity & Accountability: Demonstrates honesty, accountability, confidentiality, and alignment with company values.
  • Problem Solving: Strong reasoning skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, adapt to shifting priorities, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities of the Trade Compliance Manager :

Responsible for overseeing and managing the export process, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, coordinating with clients and suppliers, and optimizing logistics operations.

  • Oversee all export operations, ensuring full compliance with regulations related to customs valuation, country of origin, and product classification.
  • Maintain and regularly update Import/Export SOPs.
  • Ensure accurate electronic recordkeeping to support traceability and audit readiness.
  • Conduct periodic export self-assessments (compliance audits) and report findings to the direct manager to ensure adherence to departmental and corporate policies, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
  • Identify and report potential compliance risks or violations to the direct manager and collaborate with customers to address and resolve such issues.
  • Perform product classifications and prepare export documentation, including license applications and CCATS, ensuring all company and customer technology transfers and exports comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and analyze performance statistics.
  • Provide the direct manager with monthly performance reports on individual staff members and customer performance.
  • Manage Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, including compliance reporting and internal audits.
  • Conduct audits and investigations related to import compliance issues.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with government agencies on matters related to import and export control.
