POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Director of HR and Administration leads and manages HR strategy and operations at Archway Communities, including talent acquisition, benefits administration, employee engagement, compliance, performance management, and administrative operations. The role collaborates across departments to ensure alignment between HR initiatives and organizational goals. This position also oversees general office administration to ensure effective and efficient operations. A key member of the operations team, this leader brings expertise and strategy to foster a thriving organizational culture.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Leadership and Strategic HR Management

Objective: Align HR strategy with Archway’s mission, vision, and operational goals.

Key Results:

  • Partner with leadership to develop and implement organization-wide HR strategies.
  • Lead change management efforts, including staffing structures, onboarding processes, and HR technology tools.
  • Advise managers on employee relations, organizational policy, and compliance issues.
  • Drive strategic planning around workforce development.

Talent Acquisition and Development

Objective: Attract and retain a diverse and qualified workforce.

Why this matters: Hiring and developing the right people sustains Archway’s long-term mission delivery.

Key Results:

  • Lead recruitment strategy and ensure equitable hiring practices.
  • Design and maintain onboarding and offboarding processes that enhance employee experience.
  • Support professional development planning and performance management systems.
  • Implement succession planning and internal mobility strategies.

Benefits and Payroll Oversight

Objective: Ensure accurate, competitive, and legally compliant employee compensation and benefits.

Why this matters: Providing clear, accessible, and equitable compensation helps retain and support staff well-being.

Key Results:

  • Manage benefits programs (health, dental, vision, life, retirement) and lead open enrollment.
  • Oversee payroll processing and reporting in partnership with Finance.
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal wage and labor laws.
  • Partner with insurance brokers and vendors for benefit plan improvements.

Policy and Compliance

Objective: Maintain and implement HR policies aligned with legal and organizational requirements.

Why this matters: Ensures a fair, compliant, and transparent work environment.

Key Results:

  • Maintain and update employee handbook and HR policies.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and reporting obligations.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and resolve employee relations issues with discretion.
  • Lead risk management efforts including workers’ comp, safety, and data confidentiality.

Administration and Office Operations

Objective: Ensure smooth daily operations and administrative support across the organization.

Why this matters: Reliable administration enables all departments to focus on mission-critical work.

Key Results:

  • Supervise front desk, facilities coordination, and general administrative support.
  • Oversee office communications, scheduling, and support logistics for company-wide meetings and events.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental needs such as new hire setup and office access.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR) strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • 6+ years of progressively responsible HR experience; nonprofit experience preferred
  • 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Proven ability to create and implement HR systems, policies, and training programs

COMPENSATION

The pay range for this role begins at $100,000 and goes to $115,000 per year depending on experience and skill sets.

  • Archway provides Health and Dental insurance with the company covering up to 80% of cost depending on selected plan
